Head of Hamas political bureau abroad, Khaled Meshaal, has confirmed that concerted efforts in all fields, be that political, media, diplomatic, judicial, or legal are exerted in our struggle to liberate Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a speech during the Fourth International Scholars’ Meeting, entitled "The Al-Aqsa Mosque Arson Anniversary... Liberation Puts Out the Fire", Meshaal said the Al-Aqsa Mosque needs us today to maximize our efforts at all levels and be well-prepared to confront the Israeli occupation, stressing that Gaza has always been prepared and expresssed hope that the Palestinian citizens of West Bank, 1948 occupied Palestinian territories, diaspora, and all over the globe, and the Arab and Islamic nations, along with the free peoples of the world will also be present.

He added that the Zionist enemy has been trying to tighten its grip on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and wrest control of it for political purposes, especially in light of its repeated elections, and this poses a great and imminent danger that may double in the coming months.

Meshaal went on to say that having held this meeting in the Gaza enclave bears two important indications, the first of which is that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the core of the Palestinian struggle for freedom against the Israeli occupation until liberating our Jerusalem, our Al-Aqsa Mosque, and our Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The second indication, he added, is about the effective role of the scholars, the heirs of the prophets, throughout history, along with the political and military leaders, by spreading awareness and waging resistance against the Israeli occupation.

Meshaal called on the Palestinians, Arab and Islamic nations, and the free peoples of the world to increase their efforts in the struggle for the liberation of Jerusalem, and expose the occupation's leaders in international bodies and forums.

Meshaal concluded that normalizing ties with the Israeli occupation does not represent or serve the principles of the Arab and Islamic nations.
