Hamas movement mourns the death of the martyred Palestinian detainee Musa Haroun Abu Mhamid who has passed away this morning in Israeli jails due to deliberate medical negligence.
In a press statement, Hamas official Abdul Hakim Hanini held the Israeli occupation responsible for the death of Abu Mhamid who is originally from the village of Beit Tamar, east of Bethlehem.
Hanini said that the martyrdom of Abu Mhamid is a crime that requires holding the Israeli occupation accountable and prosecuting its leaders.
Abu Mhamid has passed away due to deliberate medical negligence since his detention two months ago, while trying to enter the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, he added.
Hanini stressed that the Israeli occupation's slow killing policy practiced against Palestinian detainees is a heinous crime that highlights its cruelty against Palestinian detainees and exposes its escalating violations of denying the Palestinian people their legitimate rights.
He concluded by saying that these crimes require urgent intervention from international human rights and humanitarian organizations to pressure the Israeli occupation to release all detainees, especially sick ones, and stop its ongoing violations against them.
The Israeli occupation forces detained, the martyr, Abu Mhamid two months ago, and he has been hospitalized since the beginning of last August.
The martyr's family explained that their martyred son suffered from neurological disorders before his detention and used to receive medical treatment at Bethlehem Hospital, but he was in good health.
