A high-level delegation from Hamas, headed by its politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, has met with Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, and Grigory Karasin, chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, in Moscow.  

During the meeting, the attendants discussed the Palestinian situation and regional and international developments. 

Reaffirming the importance of the strategic relationship between Hamas and Russia, the Hamas delegation reiterated the necessity for talks on various matters of mutual concern to continue between both sides.
