Six years have passed since the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) nullified any Jewish historical, cultural, or religious connection to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. However, the Israeli occupation escalates its attacks in Jerusalem against the Palestinian people and their sacred places, ignoring the international laws and resolutions that criminalize its racist policies. It also takes advantage of the US’s absolute support and the double-standard policy adopted by some countries when it comes to the Palestinians’ rights and holy places. 

On this occasion, we reiterate that the Israeli occupation has no legitimacy in nor sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Palestinian people will continue to defend the city against the Israeli occupation’s attacks and schemes. 

Additionally, Hamas confirms the following: 
First: We hail the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, across Palestine and in the diaspora who are prepared to defend Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. 

Second: The United Nations and all of its organizations must take serious action to criminalize the Israeli occupation and press it into halting its violations at Jerusalem. 

Third: we call upon the Arab and Islamic Ummah, along with the free people of the world, to shoulder their responsibility towards the Al-Aqsa Mosque. We encourage them to mobilize support for the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem until liberation and return.
