The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has slammed plans by hardline Israeli settler groups to hold the so-called Second Rabbinical Summit, sponsored by Israeli occupation lawmaker Yomtob Kalfon, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
"The extremist Israeli settler groups are taking advantage of the preoccupation of regional and international parties with various matters to commit a compounded crime by storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque and holding the Second Rabbinical Summit in its courtyards," Hamas official Basem Naim said.
In a press statement late Friday, Naim emphasised that the desecration of the sanctity of the Muslims' third holiest site in violation of international law is unforgivable, holding the fanatic Israeli occupation government fully responsible for the consequences of such a dangerous move.
The Hamas official called on the Arab and Muslim world, the international community, and all concerned parties to assume their responsibilities and put an end to such grave violations, which will only lead to a religious war in the region and undermine security and stability around the world.
"The Palestinian people everywhere, particularly in Jerusalem and its outskirts, will continue their struggle at any cost until they liberate their homeland and holy sites, foremost among them is Al-Aqsa Mosque," Naim concluded
