On the eighteenth anniversary of the assassination of great national leader Yasser Arafat, the Hamas movement asks Allah to have mercy on him and on all martyrs killed at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.

On this anniversary, Hamas states the following:

First: Recalling Arafat’s stance towards extracting the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights, Hamas looks back on the Israeli occupation’s siege on and assassination of him, a crime that is part of the Israeli occupation’s attacks against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and blockaded Gaza Strip since 2007.

Second: Such violations reiterate the necessity to promote national unity and endorse a unified resistance strategy against the Israeli occupation’s aggressive schemes against the Palestinian land, people, and holy places.

Third: On this anniversary, we strongly support the valiant Palestinian freedom fighters who vowed to stand against the Israeli occupation’s crimes until liberation and return.
