Hamas chairman Khaled Meshaal has rejected Israeli propaganda comparing the Movement to extremist and terrorist organizations like ISIS.

In a televised interview with India’s NDTV channel, Meshaal asserted that Hamas stands firmly against those random-killing extremist movements who kill on the basis of religion, faith or sect.

He scorned repeated comments made by Israel’s PM Netanyahu linking Hamas to extremist movements.

“The occupation’s Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israelis throw such allegations against Palestinians because they are the real terrorists,” he told NDTV.

 “There is a huge difference between a liberation movement exercising an inherent right to defy an occupation and extremist movements who kill indiscriminately,” he underlined.

On why Hamas rejects negotiations with the Israeli occupation, Meshaal expressed the Movement’s approval of a Palestinian state on the lands occupied in 1967, provided that the right of return is granted to all refugees and Jerusalem remains the capital of the State of Palestine.

“Israel refuses to engage in talks based on the principle of returning to the lands of 1967,” he said.

“This is why negotiations are futile.” He added.
