Seven decades have passed since the brutal Israeli occupation of Palestine and the resulting heinous massacres and crimes against the Palestinian people, land, and holy places and the unjust resolutions to divide historic Palestine. Yet, Palestinians are standing steadfast, and the free people of the world’s support for and solidarity with Palestine is on the rise.

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed today in light of the solidarity and support for Palestine voiced by the Arab and Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world at Qatar 2022 World Cup. They also emphasise their rejection of all forms of normalisation with the Israeli occupation state.

On this anniversary, Hamas affirms the following:

First: Historic Palestine, from the river to the sea, is for the Palestinian people and for them only and at the heart of which is occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. There is no legitimacy nor sovereignty for the Israeli occupation over occupied Palestine and liberating it is a responsibility that falls not only on the Palestinian people, but also on the Arab and Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world.

Second: The observance by the General Assembly of the United Nations of November 29 as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People reminds the UN and the international community of the responsibility that falls on them towards Palestine and the necessity to support the Palestinian people in their freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation until liberation and return.

Third: Hamas salutes and appreciates the Arab and Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world who voiced support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom against the brutal Zionist occupation. Hamas calls on them to foster solidarity and support with all possible means and expose the Israeli occupation’s crimes.

Fourth: We salute the steadfast Palestinian people at home, in exile, and the diaspora and call on them to unite behind resistance in the face of the Israeli occupation until liberation and return.
