Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya has stressed that blockaded Gaza has represented a symbol of national unity by embracing the Palestinian resistance project in the face of the Israeli occupation. 

Speaking at a conference Saturday, al-Hayya said: "Our national situation requires a unified Palestinian leadership that unites all segments of the Palestinian people and embraces our national vision." 

The Hamas official called for developing a Palestinian national vision that goes in line with the Palestinian national liberation project.  

Al-Hayya explained that Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) is the umbrella body that must include all segments of the Palestinian people. 

The Hamas politburo member pointed out that all Palestinian factions agreed on a national vision during the intra-Palestinian talks hosted by Algeria, adding that such a vision could be implemented through unity, will, and partnership.
