The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has welcomed the adoption of four significant resolutions in favour of Palestine by the UN General Assembly in a session held on Monday.
"This vote clearly reflects the state of international solidarity with the just Palestinian cause and the support for the Palestinian people's right to return and self-determination among member states," Hamas official Basem Naim said Tuesday evening.
In a press statement, Naim pointed out that this move highlights the "state of isolation" that the Israeli occupation has witnessed recently but has long been blocked by US vetos at the UN Security Council.
He called on the Israeli occupation's "traditional" allies, foremost among them the United States, not to shield the fascist and racist Israeli occupation and reverse double standards.
The senior Hamas official urged the international community to side with international legitimacy embracing the basic Palestinian rights in order to achieve stability and security in the region and beyond.
