On this day in 1992, the Israeli occupation carried out a mass deportation of 415 Palestinian officials and figures from the West Bank and Gaza to Marj al-Zohour in southern Lebanon.

This move was a milestone in which the Palestinian people prevailed over the Israeli occupation, setting an example of national unity behind the Palestinian resistance project.

Despite the harsh conditions they were forced to live in, the deportees managed to keep the Palestinian cause at the top of the Arab, Islamic and international agendas and foiled all attempts by the Israeli occupation to undermine the Palestinian people’s struggle until achieving their aspirations for liberation and return.

On this anniversary, we salute all Palestinian deportees who remained steadfast and resilient in exile.

We stress that the Israeli occupation’s policy of killings, banishment, and displacement will not dissuade the Palestinian people from continuing their comprehensive struggle to defend their homeland, Jerusalem, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque until restoring their rights, foremost among them is their right to self-determination.
