As the United Nations marks International Human Solidarity Day on 20 December, the Israeli occupation has escalated its aggression and terrorism against the Palestinian people through deliberate killings, racial segregation and discrimination, home demolition, and displacement.
The Israeli occupation also continues to besiege more than two million people in the Gaza Strip and adopt a policy of deliberate medical negligence and inhumane practices against Palestinian detainees in its prisons.
These heinous practices and policies of the Israeli occupation state require the United Nations and the international community to assume their political and humanitarian responsibility to seriously act to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and end their aggravating plight caused by the Israeli occupation's aggression.
Boosting and activating international solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have been languishing under the most heinous settler-colonial occupation in the whole world for more than seven decades, is a joint responsibility that falls on the UN, the Arab and Muslim world, and the free peoples of the worldVoicing solidarity with the Palestinian national cause is a matter of honour amid the escalating war being waged by the Israeli occupation against our Palestinian people and their homeland and Muslim and Christian holy sites through its criminal military machine and the violent behaviour of Israeli colonial settlers.
As we hail and welcome all official and popular efforts and stances supportive of the Palestinian people and their struggle for their legitimate rights, we urge the UN and the international community to work on boosting humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people and to endorse their quest to defend their land and restore their rights.
We call on the Arab and Muslim world and the free peoples of the world to mobilise support for the Palestinian people at home and in the diaspora and refugee camps in order to enable them to remain steadfast and resilient and continue to resist the Israeli occupation until liberation and return.
