The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has hailed a decision by the Council of Arab Information Ministers to declare Jerusalem as the "permanent capital of Arab media".
Ezzat al-Risheq, head of Hamas' Information Office, said Sunday that this move underscores the status of Jerusalem and Palestine in the Arab and Muslim world.
In a press statement, al-Risheq called for putting the Palestinian cause at the forefront of the Arab press coverage and supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle to defend their homeland and holy sites.
