Hamas has firmly denied Israeli allegations that the Movement was siphoning off U.N. funds.

In a press release on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said that the allegations were baseless fabrications, and deemed the Israeli claims a scheme to tighten the siege on Gaza and interfere with aid agencies and their flow of funds. 

“Hamas warns the Israeli occupation against carrying on with this policy,” Abu Zuhri stated, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities against the serious consequences that will result from such fabrications.
