A senior Hamas delegation visited Tuesday the Church of the Latin Monastery in Gaza, congratulating Palestinian Christians on the occasion of the Christmas and the festive season.
Hamas official Basem Naim, who headed the delegation, said that the visit confirms the “message of love, appreciation, and kindness towards Christians.”
“Our Palestinian people, Muslims and Christians alike, are united in the face of the ongoing Israeli aggression against them in the suffocating siege on the Gaza Strip and the settler colonial occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem,” Naim emphasised.
Naim expressed solidarity with Palestinian Christians, who are languishing under Israeli occupation, pointing to the Israeli attempts to block them from accessing Christian sacred sites and celebrating their holidays.
The senior Hamas official hailed the close relationship between the Palestinian resistance movement and the Palestinian Christian community.
Father Gabriel Romanelli thanked the Hamas delegation for such visit, hailing cooperation between Gaza’s Christian community and the Hamas leadership.
