Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh received Sunday evening a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian voicing his country's full solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Amir-Abdollahian reaffirmed Iran's support for the Palestinian people, saluting the Palestinian martyrs and their families.
The Iranian minister extended an official invitation for the Hamas chief to visit the Islamic Republic at his convenience.
Haniyeh, in turn, commended the Iranian foreign minister's invitation, which confirms the country's "unwavering and genuine position toward Palestine and affirms its support for the Palestinian cause and resistance."
Reiterating the movement's commitment to resistance as a strategic option to liberate Palestine, the Hamas chief hailed Iran for backing the Palestinian people and reinforcing their steadfastness in the face of the occupation.
Haniyeh condemned the attacks against Iran, pointing to last night's drone attack against the Islamic Republic.
