The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has condemned Hungary's plan to move its embassy to occupied Jerusalem as a "blatant violation of international conventions and an assault against our Palestinian people and their genuine rights."
Member of the Hamas politburo in Gaza, Basem Naim, held Hungary responsible for the consequences of such move.
In a press statement Saturday, Naim called on the European Union to take a firm stance on such move.
The Hamas official explained that such double standards and switch of interests would not serve world peace and security but would create further unrest and instability.
