Head of Hamas' Arab and Islamic Relations Office, Khalil al-Hayya, has said that the movement's political ties are based on a constant strategy with the aim of serving the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian resistance project against the occupation.

In a televised interview with AlJazeera on Sunday night, al-Hayya reiterated that Hamas does not interfere with the internal affairs of other countries.

Regarding the movement's relationship with Syria, al-Hayya explained that Hamas decided to restore ties with Syria to reinforce its presence in the country and mobilise further support for the Palestinian cause.

As for Egypt, al-Hayya reaffirmed the significance of the north African Arab nation's pivotal role in backing the Palestinian cause, hailing its positive role in alleviating the suffering of Gaza's besieged population.

Meanwhile, al-Hayya lauded Qatar for its commitment to continue supporting the Palestinian people.

Concerning Hamas' ties with Saudi Arabia, al-Hayya stressed that the movement is seeking to cement its relations with all Arab and Muslim nations.

The senior Hamas official reiterated that the movement's relationship with Iran is based on supporting the Palestinian issue and resistance, emphasising Hamas' appreciation for all supporters.

Al-Hayya made it clear that Iran “stands by our people as well as Hamas and provides them with weapons and money as much as it can and pays a price for that.”

He asserted that maintaining the relationship with the Islamic Republic is not disputed among the movement’s officials.
