Nineteen years have passed since the martyrdom of Palestinian resistance leader and Hamas' founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin by the Israeli occupation forces after a life full of sacrifices, resistance, and resilience in all political and military arenas and was crowned with his highest aspiration.

The seeds sown and safeguarded by Sheikh Yassin and other founding leaders in the land of Palestine have grown and become deeply rooted on all popular, political, military, diplomatic, and media levels.

On this anniversary, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas reiterates its commitment to Yassin's option of comprehensive resistance and national unity in the face of the Israeli occupation and its fascist government schemes against the Palestinian land, people, detainees, and holy sites.

As the Islamic holy month of Ramadan is about to begin, Hamas calls on the Palestinian people at home and abroad to draw the lessons of generosity and sacrifice from Yassin's life and defend their land and sanctities, foremost among them is occupied Jerusalem and its Al-Aqsa mosque, until liberation and return.
