Hamas spokesman Abdulrahman Shadid has on Sunday called on the Palestinian resistance to retaliate for the death of Palestinian prisoner Yasser Hamduna in occupation prisons.

In a press release, Shadid said that Hamduna’s death showcased the Israeli occupation’s cruel brutality, stressing that all Palestinian prisoners’ lives are not safe in occupation lockups.

On his part, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri reiterated the Movement’s commitment to the liberation of all Palestinian prisoners by all available means.

He urged the international community to quit dealing in double standards and hold the occupation responsible for the violations and neglect Palestinian prisoners suffer in Israeli jails.

Palestinian prisoner Yasser Hamduna, 40, was pronounced dead on Sunday morning in the Israeli prison of Ramon.

He has been in detention since 2003 and was serving a life sentence in occupation prisons, where he suffered poor treatment and medical neglect despite his having a severe heart condition.

With Hamduna’s death, the number of Palestinians who died in Israeli prisons rises to 208 prisoners.
