Palestinian prisoner Yasser Hamduna, 40, was pronounced dead on Sunday morning in the Israeli prison of Ramon, Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) reported.

Hamduna’s body was transferred to Soroka hospital after he has gasped out his last breath following a stroke, PPS revealed.

He has been in detention since 2003 and was serving a life sentence in occupation prisons, where he suffered poor treatment and medical neglect despite his having a severe heart condition.

With Hamduna’s death, the number of Palestinians who died in Israeli prisons rises to 208 prisoners.

The Palestinian committee for Prisoners’ Studies revealed recently that the number of sick Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails has increased to 1800, some 120 of whom suffer very difficult heath conditions.
