The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas welcomes the vote by a majority of UN member states at the Human Rights Council in favour of a resolution demanding the Israeli occupation end its occupation of the Palestinian territories and calling for achieving justice for the Palestinian people and holding the Israeli occupation accountable for its grave violations of human rights and international law. 

Hamas urges the international community and the United Nations to take practical steps towards criminalising the occupation, thus aligning with the recommendations of this resolution and other previous ones in this regard.

The Palestinian resistance movement also calls for holding the Israeli occupation and its leaders accountable for their crimes and violations and supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle until ending the Israeli occupation and restoring their legitimate national rights, foremost among them is establishing their Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
