Hamas movement strongly condemns detaining and interrogating Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Ekrima Sabri by Israeli occupation forces. Israeli jailers have subjected Sheikh Sabri to harsh detention circumstances and banned him from contacting media outlets to speak about the Israeli violations at the Al-Aqsa mosque.

We warn against campaigns led by Israeli extremist settler groups to incite against Sheikh Sabri.

Hamas believes that the detention of Sheikh Sabri is part of plans to deport Sarbi and prevent him, and other influential Palestinian figures, from accessing the Al-Aqsa mosque.

We express our solidarity with Sheikh Sabri, who will steadfastly face Israeli colonial and Judaization schemes.
