Two years have passed since the Saif al-Quds (Sword of Jerusalem) battle, which was sparked by the Israeli occupation forces and colonial settlers' aggression against the Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The battle marked a display of complete unity among the Palestinian resistance factions in the face of the Israeli occupation's 11-day aggression.

The anniversary is marked amidst a serious escalation and aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation forces launching airstrikes on residential buildings in the blockaded territory on Tuesday, killing at least 15 Palestinians, four women and four children, and injuring dozens others.

On this anniversary, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas states the following:

First: We salute the Palestinian heroic martyrs, wish the injured speedy recovery, and hail detainees in Israeli occupation jails.

Second: The Palestinian people will remain united in the face of the Israeli occupation's aggression and continue to hold on to their legitimate rights.

Third: The Israeli occupation's crimes and aggressive schemes will not break the will of the Palestinian people, nor will they dissuade them from continuing their resistance to the settler-colonial occupation.

Fourth: The occupied city of Jerusalem and its Al-Aqsa Mosque are the core of the decades-long Palestinian struggle for freedom and we will defend it at any cost.

Fifth: We call on the Arab and Muslim Ummah and the free people of the world to show solidarity with and support for the Palestinian people.
