Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif al-Qanoua has said that the insistence of the so-called Israeli prison service on ignoring the suffering of cancer-stricken Palestinian detainee Walid Daqqa and subjecting him to deliberate medical neglect is a new racist crime.

Hamas expresses its full solidarity with the Palestinian detainees held in Israeli jails who are subjected to repeated violations by the Israeli occupation forces, Al-Qanoua added.

The Hamas spokesperson called on all human rights and humanitarian organisations to take swift action to protect Palestinian detainees from the violations perpetrated against them. He also called for putting an end to the policy of medical negligence and working towards releasing Palestinian detainee Abu Daqqa who is in a critical health condition.
