The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has warned against the Israeli occupation’s transformation of the ancient Palestinian historical site, the Citadel of Jerusalem, into the so-called “Tower of David Museum.”
Member of Hamas Political Bureau Abroad, Ali Baraka, said Saturday that such move is a "continuation of the Israeli occupation's attempts to Judaise the holy city and alter its historical and religious features at the expense of the indigenous Palestinian population of Jerusalem."
In a press statement, Baraka called for closely following the situation in occupied Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, including the Israeli occupation and colonial settlers' assaults in the Old City and near the Al-Aqsa compound.
The Hamas official urged the Palestinian citizens of the occupied West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 to intensify their presence at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and protect the Muslim sacred site against Israeli schemes aimed at Judaizing it.
