The 56^th anniversary of the Setback comes while the Israeli occupation continues to perpetrate heinous crimes against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. However, the Palestinian people continue to face Israeli schemes and terrorism with steadfastness and resilience.

On this occasion, Hamas mourns the martyrdom of all Palestinians who passed away in the freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation. The movement also salutes resilient Palestinians who reside inside occupied Palestinian territories and in the diaspora.

Remembering the 56^th anniversary of the Setback, Hamas would like to state the following:

First: Strengthening comprehensive resistance against the Israeli occupation and the unity of the Palestinian people is the best way to restore Palestinian rights. The Palestinian popular support for the resistance proves once again that we are on the right track towards the Palestinian people’s aspirations in return and liberation.

Second: Achieving Palestinian unity and true, inclusive partnership between the Palestinian people inside Palestine and outside Palestine is a top national priority. We reiterate that partnership is a strategic option to face the Israeli schemes and the fascist Israeli government.

Third: The Israeli occupation aggression against the Palestinian people that started after the Israeli occupation of Palestine will not grant it security or sovereignty to the Israeli occupation. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians from the river to the sea and the Palestinian people will defend it at any cost.

Fourth: We reiterate our absolute rejection of Israeli schemes that target the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people or compromise any inch of Palestine. Hamas confirms that these plans are doomed to failure and the Palestinian people will continue to adhere to the national constants.

Fifth: The liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem is the responsibility of the whole Arab and Muslim Ummah. This occasion urges all Arab and Muslim countries to boycott the Israeli occupation and support the Palestinian peoples’ freedom struggle for liberation and independence.
