A high-level delegation from Hamas, led by its politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, has met with the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Abbas Kamel, in Cairo. 

The meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, Khalid Meshal, Khalil al-Hayya, and Rawhi Mushtaha, was positive and fruitful.
 
During the meeting, both sides addressed a number of matters of mutual concern, including the latest political and regional development especially following the latest Israeli aggression against Gaza, and the situation in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. 

The Hamas delegation confirmed that it was keen to boost cooperation and mutual ties with Egypt, hailing the Arab nation's role in serving the Palestinian people.
