The Israeli occupation's decision to expand illegal settlement construction on occupied Palestinian land in the villages of Beit Iksa, Lifta, Beit Hanina, and Shufat in the north of occupied Jerusalem and to build 1,703 new colonial settler units in the illegal settlements of "Ramot" and "Ramat Shlomo" constitute a new ethnic cleansing crime that is being committed by the fascist Israeli occupation government against the Palestinian people. 

In this regard, Hamas deplores the international community's inaction on illegal settlement construction on occupied Palestinian territory. 

That has encouraged the Israeli occupation to commit further crimes and violations of international law and relevant UN resolutions. 

Hamas calls on the international community and the United Nations to assume their political, legal and moral responsibilities towards ending the Israeli occupation and putting an end to its ongoing violations and to endorse the Palestinian people's right to resistance until achieving their aspirations for freedom, self-determination, and establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
