The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas warns against the passing of an Israeli draft bill granting the Israeli occupation's minister of national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, more powers, including imposing the so-called administrative detention – a euphemism for holding detainees without charge or trial – against the Palestinian citizens of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948. 

Such powers would be used to oppress the Palestinians and terrorise anti-occupation advocates under the pretext of fighting crime and violence. 

Hamas calls on international human rights groups to raise their voice against the Israeli occupation and condemn its racist and discriminatory policies and projects aimed at targeting the Palestinians who are committed to their national identity and are defending their rights and their Muslim and Christian holy sites. 

The Palestinian resistance movement also holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the rising rates of crime and violence in Palestinian communities by facilitating the gangs' access to weapons.
