Deputy Hamas chief Saleh Al-Aruri said that the Palestinian people pay the price for Netanyahu’s attempts to save his coalition government.

In a meeting with Al-Aqsa TV channel, the deputy Hamas chief explained that Netanyahu takes more extremist positions against the Palestinian people to appease members of the current Israeli occupation's government.

Al-Aruri pointed out that the latest Israeli vote has brought many radical changes in the occupation state, pointing to the Israeli right-wing plans to displace the Palestinian residents of the West Bank.

The senior Hamas official called on the international community to side with the Palestinian people who continue to face repeated Israeli attacks across Palestine, especially at Al-Aqsa. He described the holy compound as a ‘red line’ for Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims.

Concerning the intra-Palestinian reconciliation, the deputy Hamas chief said that the movement has spoken to Fatah about a national strategy to support the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.

“We and Fatah agree that the current situation of the Palestinian issue is alarming, and this requires a major serious decision about the ongoing circumstances.”

The deputy Hamas chief confirmed that the movement agrees with “all Palestinian factions on the comprehensive resistance strategy, inclusive of political work and armed resistance.”

Al-Aruri noted that Hamas is prepared to participate in the Palestinian elections, emphasizing that the movement will accept the outcomes of the Palestinian vote whatsoever.  

Answering a question about the movement’s latest visit to Egypt, the senior clarified that the Hamas delegation discussed some political developments concerning the Palestinian issue with Egyptian officials, denying that the visit was intended to discuss a potential ceasefire with the Israeli occupation.
