Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh has met with the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution, Brigadier General Ali Akbar Ahmidan, in Tehran.

The Hamas chief was accompanied by a senior delegation from the movement.

Haniyeh has discussed the political developments relating to the Palestinian cause with the Iranian official.

He also explained the current humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli siege and the Israeli violations in the West Bank.

The Hamas delegation reiterated the necessity to mobilise support for the Palestinian issue and the importance of strengthening ties between the Arab and Islamic countries.

Ahmidan, in turn, confirmed Iran’s supportive position towards the Palestinian cause.
