Hamas movement stated that freeing Palestinian detainees from Israeli occupation prisons is a top priority for the movement. 

In a press release on the 17th anniversary of capturing Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, Hamas warned the Israeli occupation against the consequences of its continued attacks on Palestinian detainees held in Israeli jails. “Such crimes will not be forgotten with the passage of time.”

Hamas called for fostering intra-Palestinian unity in the face of the Israeli occupation’s schemes and brutal violations. 

The movement also urged the Arab and Muslim Ummah to show more solidarity with the just Palestinian cause.

Hamas reiterated the necessity to pressure the Israeli occupation into halting its aggression against Palestinian detainees and work towards releasing the children, women, and patient detainees from its jails.
