Member of Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouq has highlighted the importance of submitting complaints with the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the unjust blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and seeking compensation for its victims.
These actions were crucial to bring an end to the illegal siege, he added.
The senior Hamas official reiterated that the complaints filed by Palestinian and international parliamentary and human rights organisations in courts and judicial authorities serve as a means to achieve justice for the Palestinian people who have been enduring a harsh blockade, injustice, persecution, starvation, and the denial of basic human rights.
He pointed out that the imposition of the unjust blockade on the coastal territory was a form of punishment against the Palestinian people for exercising their democratic right to vote, despite international recognition of the elections' transparency and fairness.
