The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has urged the international community to bring the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) advisory opinion on the Israeli apartheid wall into effect.
“This is an important occasion to reinforce such opinion and work on reactivating it by reminding the world of the consequences of the Israeli apartheid wall, including humanitarian crimes and political and economic violations against our Palestinian people,” head of Hamas’ International Relations Office, Mousa Abu Marzouq said.
In a press statement on the 19th anniversary of the ICJ’s opinion, Abu Marzouq called on the international community to oblige the Israeli occupation to demolish the apartheid wall and compensate the Palestinian people for damages.
“The Israeli occupation’s construction of the apartheid wall has not provided it with purported security,” Abu Marzoq concluded. “Instead, the apartheid serves as a means to oppress our Palestinian people, steal their lands and resources, take over their fields and property and prevent Palestinian families from remaining in contact due to the dismemberment of the occupied Palestinian territory.”
