The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has extended its warmest congratulations and best wishes to Venezuela on its Independence Day. 

"This momentous day symbolizes Venesula's resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to freedom and self-determination," said Basem Naim, head of Hamas' Department of Politics and Foreign Relations, Friday. 

In a letter addressed to Maher Taha, the Palestinian ambassador to the country, Naim added that Venezuela's struggle for independence "serves as an inspiration to nations around the world which strive for liberation and sovereignty." 

Naim hailed Venezuela for its firm support of the Palestinian cause. 

He continued: "Your solidarity strengthens our struggle for the rights of the Palestinian People." 

The Hamas official wished Venezuela a future of prosperity, hoping that the country remains a "beacon of democracy and social progress."
