Hamas movement has sent its warmest wishes to South Africa on International Nelson Mandela Day. 
In official letters penned by the Head of Hamas' International Relations Office, Dr. Musa Abu Marzouq, on the occasion of International Nelson Mandela Day, the movement praised Mandela's unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and freedom. 

The letters were addressed to the South African ambassador to Palestine, Sean Edward Bienfeldt, the Deputy Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC) and Chairperson of the International Relations Committee, Nomvula Mokonyane, the Chief Executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Dr. Verne Harris, and the Amir of the Royal House of Mandela and Member of the South African National Assembly, Zwelivelile Mandela.

The senior Hamas official cited Mandela's famous quote in the letter, "Our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians," to highlight the shared history of struggle between South Africa and Palestine.

"Let us all join hands to uphold his values and reach a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian cause," Abu Marzouq concluded.
