Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh congratulates the Palestinian people and the Arab and Muslim Ummah on the advent of the new Hijri year.

On this day, the Muslim world celebrates the journey of the Islamic Prophet Mohammed (Peace be Upon Him) from Mecca to Medina which marked a new era in the history of Islam.

While offering our cognates, we hope the Ummah will celebrate this anniversary next year and Jerusalem is free from Israeli occupation.

We also wish that the next Hijri year will be full of peace and prosperity worldwide.
