Hamas movement stated that storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers and ministers is a serious escalation against the Palestinian holy places.

In a press statement, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem explained that such attacks are part of the Israeli occupation’s ‘religious war’ against the Palestinians.

He also described breaking into Al-Aqsa as an action that “provokes the feelings of the Muslim Ummah and the free peoples of the world.”

The Hamas spokesperson emphasised that the Palestinian people will defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque at any cost and will make big efforts to preserve the Muslim and Arab features of the city.

“The Palestinian people will not allow the Israeli occupation to pass its aggressive schemes in Jerusalem,” Qasem added.
