Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem has emphasised the necessity of taking advantage of the upcoming meeting of Palestinian factions' secretaries-general in Egypt to promote unity in the face of the Israeli occupation’s aggression.

Describing the meeting as a “chance to establish a united national position”, Qassem said that the Israeli occupation had escalated its aggression against the al-Aqsa Mosque and this "requires achieving unity to confront the Israeli occupation". 

Underlining Hamas' commitment to ensuring a rewarding outcome from the meeting, Qassem reiterated that Hamas' primary objective is to formulate a strategy that would enable the Palestinians to stand against the violations and crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces and colonial settlers.
