Member of Hamas politburo abroad Hesham Qasem has said that the reports about settlement plans across occupied Palestinian territories emphasise anew that the Israeli cabinet sponsors and encourages colonial settlement plans.  

In a press statement, Qasem emphasised that the Israeli occupation’s colonial expansion comes amid international silence that encourages the Israeli occupation to perpetrate more crimes against Palestinians.

The new Israeli government has accelerated its colonial expansion plans over the past eight months, thus marking the most dangerous surge of colonial settlement building  in the last decade, the Hamas official said.

He added: “The new Israeli government has approved the construction of more than 13 thousand settlement units in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, especially in the colonial settlements constructed in Nablus, Jenin, and Hebron.”
