Hamas has congratulated prisoners Ahmed Abu Fara and Anas Shadeed on their victory in their hunger strike battle.
In a press release on Thursday, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasim deemed the prisoners’ victory a demonstration of Palestinian people’s will against the occupation and a proof of their ability to extract their rights and freedom.
He reaffirmed that liberating Palestinian prisoners in occupation jails remains one of the Movement’s strategic goals.
“We call on all Palestinians to support the steadfastness of the prisoners and their families,” he added.
Abu Fara and Shadeed have on Thursday suspended their hunger strike after 90 days following a pledge by the Israeli occupation to grant their release in 4 months.
Abu Fara and Shadeed were apprehended and detained in Israeli jails without charges, a policy known as administrative detention.
