Commenting on the approval of an Israeli settler-colonial plan targeting occupied Jerusalem, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas states the following:  

The Israeli occupation government's approval of the so-called 'Strategic Plan for the Development of Jerusalem' is a malicious step aimed at Judaising the holy city. 

Through such move, the fascist, settler-colonial government is seeking to entrench its takeover of occupied Jerusalem, isolate the city from its neighbouring Palestinian towns and villages, and undermine the Palestinian territorial contiguity. 

The plan is also designed to restructure the demographic status quo in occupied Jerusalem in a way that serves the Israeli occupation's interests and schemes aimed at Judaising the holy city and displacing its Palestinian population as the Israeli occupation continues to ban Palestinian construction and demolish Palestinian homes under false pretexts. 

The fascist scheme amounts to a new racist crime targeting occupied Jerusalem and its Palestinian identity and population under the noses of the whole world. 

The Palestinian people will confront all Israeli settler-colonial schemes targeting Jerusalem and its identity. 

Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Palestine; all ill-fated Israeli plans and schemes aimed at obliterating the Palestinian presence in occupied Jerusalem are bound to fail.
