The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has strongly condemned the proposal submitted by Israeli engineers and consultants to increase the number of illegal colonial settlers in the northern occupied West Bank to one million.
Hamas spokesperson Jehad Taha emphasised Thursday that such plans will never alter the national identity of the Palestinian territory.
In a press statement, Taha called on the international community to assume responsibility and put an end to such moves.
"Resistance is the only successful option to foil all the Israeli occupation's schemes targeting the occupied Palestinian territories," stressed Taha.
The Hamas spokesperson urged the Palestinian people to unite in the face of the Israeli occupation and confront its schemes with all means possible.
Taha also called on the Arab and Muslim world to support the Palestinian people in their struggle with the Israeli occupation.
There are over 700,000 Israeli colonial settlers now living in 176 illegal settlements and 186 outposts, built on vast swathes of stolen Palestinian territory in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in a blatant violation of international law.
