The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has strongly rejected the statements made by Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio, in which he said that his country is prepared to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem.

Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa condemned such move as an "infringement upon our Palestinian people's rights."

"Such deplorable position gives the Israeli occupation army and colonial settlers the green light to continue their violations and theft of the Palestinian territory, particularly in occupied Jerusalem," al-Qanoa added in a press statement Saturday.

The Hamas spokesperson called on the Sierra Leonean government to backtrack on such move and endorse the just Palestinian cause.
