The spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Abdel Latif el-Qanou said in a statement that the latest Israeli decision to construct over 3 thousand settlement homes across the occupied West Bank is a dangerous Israeli escalation that aims to steal more Palestinian land.   

He noted that the continuing settlements expansion in the West Bank and East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Israeli policy that works hard to create a new distorted demographic reality on the ground. This reality would further enhance the sectarian Israeli practices implemented by the Israeli government to consolidate a racist Jewish state, a prospect that constitutes a grave danger not only for Palestine but also for the entire region.

El-Qanou added in this respect that his movement calls all the Palestinian factions and the whole Palestinian people to adopt a comprehensive national strategy that depends on resistance to combat the Israeli aggression on our land and sacred shrines.

The spokesperson concluded his statement by asking the Palestinian Authority (PA) to stop pursing the Palestinian freedom fighters in the West Bank, and to give way for the Palestinian resistance to operate in order to stop the Israeli crimes and settler colonialism.
