The spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Fawzi Barhoum, said in a press release that his group holds the Israeli Occupation fully responsible for the ongoing repressive escalation committed by the Israeli Prison Authorities against the Palestinian prisoners.

He added that his movement follows with grave concerns the continuous crimes at the Negev Prison which include harassments, insults, and hateful vengeances perpetrated against the Palestinian prisoners. The latest Israeli crimes have reached its acme after a decision made by the Israeli government to adopt more draconian measures against the Palestinian prisoners.

In this regard, Barhoum said that his movement hailed the legendary steadfastness from the Palestinian prisoners' side, and praised the acts of bravery done by the prisoners Khaled Silawi and Ahmed Nassar. He also noted that they are form of self-defense and considered a normal responses to the constant Israeli humiliations to which prisoners are subjected.

The spokesperson stressed that Hamas warned the Israeli Occupation of the potential consequences of its policy, calling the Palestinian people to immediately back up the prisoners in the Israeli prisons to foster their resilience and force the Israeli occupation to respect their rights.

He concluded by asking the legislative and humanitarian organizations to take urgent actions to put an end to the daily Israeli crimes perpetrated against the Palestinian prisoners.
