The spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Hazem Qasem stating the following:

The press release issued by the White House considered the settlement expansion across the Occupied Palestinian Territories including the West Bank and East Jerusalem as an insignificant issue is an attempt to cover up settler colonialism on the Palestinian land.

He also said that Hamas slams the stance adopted by the Palestinian Authority (PA) that welcomed the new American administration's statement.

Qasem noted that the rising American bias against the Palestinian rights overlaps with the futile political approach embraced by the PA, which in return will lead to further Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people, and more Israeli insurgency against the international resolutions that rejected Israeli settler colonialism.

He added that his group calls on the Palestinian people to adopt a comprehensible program that relies on resistance in all forms needed to combat the Israeli colonialism and the settlers' heinous crimes against the Palestinian people.
