Israeli occupation forces arrested early Thursday morning the MP in the Legislative Council for the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", Samira Halayqa, after breaking into her home in Hebron.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation stormed the home of Halaiqa in the Hebron district, and wreaked havoc before detaining the MP and confiscating her computer.

Halayqa was arrested after raids were carried out by Israeli forces early Thursday morning across West Bank regions.

Her arrest comes a day after the international community marked International Women's day, further demonstrating the oppression Israel has practiced against Palestinian women since the Nakba in 1948.

Halayqa's arrest raises the number of Palestinian MP's inside Israeli jails to ten, including the senior Fatah member, Marwan al-Barghouti, Secretary General of the Popular Front, Ahmed Saadat, and eight Hamas MPs
