Press Release issued by Hamas on the 41st anniversary of  Palestinian Land Day

The forty- first anniversary of Palestinian Land Day is marked today with the blood of the martyred  leader , Mazen Foqha; thereby asserting the duty to continue on the same path which marked this anniversary. The color of the Palestinian blood will remain in the eyes and the hearts of the generations as a spark of  the revolution and a symbol of courage and sacrifice. From the 1948 Palestinian Land to the people  and martyrs of the West Bank  and  to Gaza, the land of heroism and dignity;  the map of Palestine extends  encompassing  its honorable  history  sacredness of place   and the true meaning of freedom and valor  , .

The anniversary of  Land  Day will remain to be a compass  for  all days in Palestinian , for the  resistance  and steadfastness , for those   who resist  tyranny    ,  and  shall continue to be the right that cannot be defeated by injustice, denial and years burdened by oppression and suffering.

We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement ‘ Hamas’,  commemorate this anniversary not to cry on the  ruins, but to lift  the spirits of the people  inspired by the meaning of victory and the path which was paved by the blood of the martyrs. Depsite  the rugged road, the tight siege , the conspirators, and  the tyrants , we do believe that the darkest hour is just before the dawn.

The anniversary comes at a time when the Arab situation is miserable and the regional situation is uncertain. These    challenges  urge us to reunite and adhere  to our rights and fundamentals. Above all are the rights to resist ,to liberate our land and  holy places  and to enable refugees to return their lands . This constitues the steps to achieving self-determination needed to  establish our  independent state on the entire land of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital  where all Palestinians can live in dignity and equally enjoy all rights and liberties  without any discrimination.

Palestinians who have been sacrificing  their souls and their most valued possessions for the sake of Palestine   for over one hundred years of occupation deserve live in freedom

On this anniversary, we emphasize the followings        :

First : resistance  is the only way to liberate the land and the human . There is no future for compromises  and   no survival or victory for occupation.

Second: whoever  plants the seeds of assassination will reap the wrath of revenge . The occupation  will understand in the near future that the Palestinian people are people of free will and their resistance shall not forget or forgive the blood which has been shed, and will not leave the criminal unpunished.

Third: the Palestinian Land Day is a point of  unanimous Palestinian consensus among all Palestinian factions and forces.  Therefore, on this day, we call for a genuine reconciliation, inspired   by the blood of the martyrs, to reinforce the meaning of belonging , adherence to rights , sanctity  of Palestine and a refusal to give up on any grain of sand  or collaborate with the occupier at any cost. 

Fourth: we call upon the leaders and the peoples of the Arab nation to make the cause of Palestine a central issue where all contradictions, disputes and narrow interests  are put aside. We urge them to remember that  Al-Aqsa mosque and Jerusalem are their key issues which have always united the Arab world  many times after decades of division , weakness and displacement.

Fifth: stability of the region  is linked with the stability of Palestine. The crimes committed by the Israeli occupier against the Palestinians and their holy places are acts of racism  which  if  not  deterred and  isolated internationally will ignite the region and  have catastrophic impacts on  international peace.
